The Boulevard Car Seat 70 CS is not the cheapest car seat on the market. In fact it’s one of the higher priced car seats on the market. So why do I like it?
Why do our children ride in car seats? It’s not about comfort or that they can see better out of the window. It’s all about safety!
It’s a fact that Britax makes the safest car seats. Yes all car seats sold in the U.S. have to pass the U.S. government safety standards and tests. However Britax goes beyond that.
The first and most obvious safety feature is that your child can stay rear facing until they weigh around 40 pounds depending upon their height. The longer a child can be rear facing, the safer he or she is. Children are better protected from head, neck and spinal injuries when they sit in a seat facing the rear.
Britax has what they call Versa-Tether. This feature slows forward movement in a frontal crash. It gives extra anchoring to the seat also.
True Side Impact Protection helps keep a child’s neck, spine and head contained and aligned in the event of a side impact crash. This is accomplished by an extra layer of foam in the head restraint.
The CS in the name Britax Boulevard car seat 70 CS stands for click and safe. When you tighten your child’s harness you’ll hear a snap sound when the tightness is correct.
Britax has what they call the HUGS system which gives extra resistance to the child flying out of the seat by going under the harness. This is also known as the “Submarine Effect”.
